We’re passionate about building semantic, standards-compliant, accessible websites. And even more passionate about making sure your website doesn’t look like everyone else’s. But most of all? We’re passionate about giving you what you want, and we’ll work with you to give it to you in the way you want it. New to the whole process? We’ll guide you all the way through. A bit more tech savvy? We’ll be there beside you for the ride.
We’re here to help you make a great impression. So go on, get elle. You know you want to.
The L behind Elle is Laurie M. Rauch, pop-culture junkie, Internet addict and self-proclaimed geek. In addition to creating websites, Laurie is part of the Webmaster program’s instructor team at Seneca College, where she shares her love and passion for web design with future web developers.
Go surf the web. No, really. The best way to see what you want, and what you don’t want, is to see what else is out there. Once you have a general idea of what you’re looking for, come back and see us. Fill out our online design questionnaire to let us know what you’re looking for and we’ll get started.
Every one of our clients is unique, so every website we complete is also unique. To ensure that you get the site you want, we don’t want to confine you to a package or limited possibilities. Talk to us about your budget and what you’re looking for and we’ll work specifically with you to create your project.
Creating your site is a partnership. While we’ll be developing the look and inner-workings of your site, there’s a lot that depends on you, too. The faster you can provide us with your content and make decisions on images, designs, functionality, the faster we can get back to work.
After we’ve gone over your design questionnaire, we’ll contact you to discuss your needs. At this point, we’ll talk about your budget and the cost of what you’re looking for. And then we’ll get designing. We’ll provide you with a mockup of your design for you to work with and we’ll tweak it until it’s just right. Then we’ll start building. As we work, your site will be available on our test server so you can see how things are progressing and to let us know if anything isn’t quite working the way you want it to. Once we’re both happy, we’ll push your site live.
For the nitty-gritty of our terms, please read our terms of service.
Because our clients can be all over the world, we communicate best through email. You can email us at elle@getelle.com or contact us through our contact form. Once we start working together, we’ll find the best way to chat, be it email, IM, Skype, phone or face-to-face.
If we upload your site and it isn’t working right, we’ll fix it. If we upload your site and you make changes to it and it breaks, we can fix it, but at our hourly design rate. We strongly recommend that you make a backup of all the files we provide for you just in case. That way, if you make just one teeny change, you’ll be able to restore your site to its original state. We cannot guarantee that we will be able to keep all of your original files on our servers.
A domain is your web address or URL – www.yourwebsite.com – where people will go to find you on the web. You will need to register your domain, so be sure that it’s available. Many web hosts offer a free domain registration with their hosting.
Web hosting is a place on the web that stores all your website’s files and images and even your email so that the rest of the world can see it.
While we do not provide web hosting or domain registration, we are available to help you through the process of securing your domain and your host. We use Dreamhost for our hosting. Use our referral code GETELLE to save $50 off your first purchase.
Use our handy-dandy contact form to contact us or drop us an email.
